Today’s Friday Session comes courtesy of the American soul singer Leon Bridges, and a track from his album`Coming Home’ titled: ‘Twistin’ & Groovin.’ Focused on the first line of the lyrics, we’re talking about being fed up.

We use this phrasal verb to say that we feel tired, annoyed or unhappy about something or someone. And the opposite? Well, if we want someone to smile and be happy, we say: ‘Cheer up!’ (Be cautious with this though! It can be quite annoying when you’re told to ‘act’ happy, rather than feeling the genuine emotion.)
